Core Concepts
AML Rules
Velocity rules, PEP and sanctions screening, tenant-managed lists, and case management for AML workflows.
Velocity rules
Velocity rules trigger when activity exceeds thresholds within a time window — for example, more than 10 outbound transfers in 1 hour from the same customer, or 5 failed logins before a successful session. Configure velocity conditions in the rule builder with AND/OR logic. See Glossary: velocity rule.
PEP & sanctions screening
At scoring time, MaiGuard can match counterparties against PEP and sanctions lists. Include structured counterparty metadata in Tier 3+ payloads:
- →
metadata.counterparty.fullName - →
metadata.counterparty.countryCode - →
metadata.counterparty.type
Note
Tenant lists
Upload and manage custom allow/block lists via the tenant list API. Lists are evaluated during scoring alongside global rules. Use the Customer Onboarding guide to align customer IDs with list entries.
Case manager
Transactions flagged as REVIEW enter analyst queues in the case manager. Analysts see transaction context, matched rules, entity graph links, and can add notes before resolving cases. Export audit trails for compliance reporting.
